7 from Mount Pleasant Sign LOIs, 1 Signs to BU

MOUNT PLEASANT (KYTX) - Soft hands, to go along with blistering speed. He and 6 other high school teammates signed their letters of intent this morning. Kadarrius Cannon will play college ball at one of the highest flying offenses in the nation. 

"It was like a home away from home. I got close to the coaches and they treated me like I was their own child."- KD Cannon
Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M, and 22 other offers were turned down for the Bears. 
"I like it because school is important. And it is good to have degree from there." - KD Cannon
Cannon's high school QB Cullen Grubbs says the bears got a play maker.
"It makes my job really easy, all I gotta do is get the ball there." - QB, Cullen Grubbs
Some people around Mount Pleasant have already started comparing Cannon to another East Texas great, Dez Bryant.  Tigers Coach Mart Graham says Cannon has all kinds of potential.
 "He is a special kid. There was never any doubt. The great part is that he still has room to improve"  - Mart Graham, Head Coach
His Father Keith Thompson has high hopes.
"First year I expect him to go in and get a little playing time, second year I expect him to explode" - Father, Keith Thompson
"I gotta go in and work hard from the beginning. Run extra routes, and do things people don't see." - KD
