74K jobs added in December, unemployment drops to 6.7%

(CNN) - The latest jobs report from the Department of Labor is falling short of expectations.

According to the report, 74,000 jobs were added in December. That's far short of the 193,000 additional jobs economists had been expecting. December now has the distinction of being the weakest month for job growth since January 2011.

For all of 2013, the economy added about 2.8 million jobs -- on par with 2012's gains.
