A Health Alert: Caffeine Effects

(CBS)- A study published in today's journal "Pediatrics" finds caffeine has different effects on boys and girls after they reach puberty.  Researchers say girls experience different heart rate and blood pressure changes than boys.  Scientists say more study is needed to figure out why there's a difference and whether hormones play a role.  
(CBS)- Another study in pediatrics finds children who are hospitalized for asthma are less likely to be readmitted if they follow up with their doctors.  Asthma is a leading cause of hospital admissions for children, so experts say keeping up with care is key.  
(CBS)- Researchers are having success with a new device that monitors and controls glucose levels for type 1 diabetics. The bionic pancreas uses a smartphone and glucose monitor to signal an implanted pump to deliver insulin and hormones. Patients would no longer have to constantly worry about keeping track of their blood sugar.
