EAST TEXAS (KYTX) - Clouds continue to erode today, and skies will become partly cloudy to mostly sunny by late afternoon. Lows tonight will be in the mid 30s. Thursday will be sunny with high temperatures in the mid 60s and southwest winds 5 to 10 mph. The next trough of low pressure to affect the area will arrive Thursday night, but the atmosphere looks too dry to support rain at that time.
Another ridge of high pressure will build southward Friday and reinforce the cool air across our area. There is a slight chance of rain Friday night; but while forecast models are backing off the chance of a winter mix generally across East Texas, there could be a few incidents of isolated sleet at times.
The weekend will be mostly sunny with lows at or just above freezing. Highs Saturday will reach the low 50s with Sunday's highs about 10 degrees higher. There will be a chance of showers and thunderstorms Monday and Monday night.
