A Texas Most Wanted Fugitive's reward has gone up to $17,500

AUSTIN (KYTX) - The reward for a criminal on the run has increased up to $17,500. During July information that leads to the capture of Ernesto Alonso Garcia, 30, could pay off. He is one of Texas' Most Wanted Fugitives and is wanted for stabbing two men, one of them resulting in death. 

Garcia, also known as "Rooster" and "Gallito", is a member of The Texas Syndicate gang and has a violent criminal history. He is wanted for murder, aggravated assault, and drug trafficking.

Garcia is a Mexican citizen who legally resides in the United States. he was last known to live in Edinburg, Texas. he is 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs approximately 155 pounds, and has his last name "Garcia", tattooed across his back.  

Garcia, whose last known address was in Edinburg, Texas, is a Mexican citizen who legally resides in the United States as a permanent resident. He is wanted for the 2011 stabbing of two men, one of whom died as a result of his injuries. 



Anyone with information can provide anonymous tips in four different ways:

  • Call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477).
  • Text the letters DPS – followed by your tip – to 274637 (CRIMES) from your cell phone.
  • Submit a web tip through the DPS web site by selecting the fugitive you have information about, and then clicking on the link under their picture.
