About 2,000 without power in East Texas

(TYLER MORNING TELEGRAPH) - Approximately 2,000 people across East Texas were experiencing electric power outages at approximately 8 p.m. Tuesday, officials said.

The outages were scattered across the region, with 100 here and 100 there, said Charles Hill, eastern region customer operation manager for Oncor.

"They are scattered all over all of East Texas through Lindale and down through the Lufkin-Nacogdoches area," Hill said.

Considering the weather, the outages were probably caused by ice and by trees falling on lines, Hill said.
