Alleged Gregg County bigamist back in custody

LONGVIEW/GREGG COUNTY (KYTX) - An alleged East Texas bigamist is back in custody.

Candice Mechell Andrade, 32, is being held on $100,000 bond in the Gregg County Jail this morning. She was transferred last week from the Rusk County Jail.

Gregg County 124th District Judge Alfonso Charles issued a warrant for Andrade's arrest on Jan. 29, when she failed to appear at a mandatory court hearing. She had been out of jail on a $5,000 personal recognizance bond since November, after a Gregg County grand jury indicted Andrade for being married to B.Keyser, S. Key, E. Pepper, Q. Garza and B.Culp at the same time in 2010.

Her Feb. 12 jail records list her last name as Smith, though she has at least nine known aliases, according to a Gregg County booking sheet.
