TYLER (KYTX) - A cold front will arrive early Thursday with a shift to north winds 10 to 15 mph. The cold arctic air will trail a few hours behind. High temperatures Thursday will be near 50 degrees in the morning, and it will get colder through the afternoon.
There is a 70% chance of cold rain which will continue through Friday morning. Lows Friday are expected to be near freezing. Some icing could begin along the I-30 corridor Thursday night and Friday morning.
The rain will break Friday afternoon and night before another wave starts Saturday.
With temperatures near or below freezing from Saturday through Sunday morning, there is a good chance we will see freezing rain with significant icing on trees, power lines and roads, south to the I-20 corridor of East Texas.
