Baby Found In Storm Drain After Being Ejected During Car Crash

First responders are calling it a miracle that an 8-month-old survived a wreck Nov. 25 in Texarkana, Ark. Authorities say the impact ejected the child and tossed her 35 feet and into a drainage grate.

Texarkana, Ark.-- An Arkansas has many reasons to thankful and medics are calling it a miracle. This comes after an infant survived being thrown from a car and into a storm drain during a crash.

The child only had a scratch on her forehead after she was rescued. First Responders say the 8-month-old was tossed about 35 feet before landing in the grate.

The child was ejected during a wreck on I-30 in Texarkana, Arkansas on November 25.

One first responder said he believes it was divine intervention. "The baby ... was sitting up and looking up at us waiting for us to pull her out," Texarkana firefighter Josh Moore told CBS Affiliate KSLA.

To have something positive like this happen at the holidays feels real good, first responders say.

They're calling it a 'Miracle on I-30'.

Police confirmed to KSLA the child was not properly restrained in the car seat at the time of the accident and that the car seat was also not properly installed, but no citation was issued.
