Body discovered believed to be missing Jasper man

(KJAS) - Jasper City Councilman Alton Scott, who is also an Associate Pastor at Faith Temple Church of God in Christ, told KJAS News on Monday afternoon that a body, which is believed to that of Alfred Wright, has been discovered in an area where authorities have recently been searching for the 28-year-old man in a very rural section of Sabine County.

According to Scott, the body was discovered shortly before 3:00 by Ray Lewis, who is Pastor at the church.

Scott said the body, which was completely unclothed, was discovered just east of Highway 87, and just north of Coussans Road.

Late Monday afternoon, reported that Wright's sister was at the scene and she identified the body as being her brother. However, there is no official word on whether the body belongs to Wright, who has been missing since Thursday, November 7th.

Investigators say Wright was last seen on Highway 87, about five miles south of Hemphill, when his vehicle broke down at the C-L&M Package Store, and he left walking alongside Highway 87.

Wright is a home health physical therapist, and he was reportedly on his way to see a patient when he went missing.

One day after he went missing, Sabine County deputies reportedly discovered what is believed to be Wright's shirt, pants, one sock and a shoe along with his watch near a barb wire fence, at the east end of a large pasture located near Coussans Road.
