ANDERSON COUNTY (KYTX) - Authorities in Anderson County are awaiting preliminary autospy results to determine the exact cause of death after a work crew found a body near the Neches River.
The badly decomposed body was discovered Tuesday shortly before noon along Hwy. 79 at the Anderson, Cherokee County line.
Investigators do not suspect foul play and have determined the body was a male, according to Anderson County Sheriff Greg Taylor. Authorities believe the body had been there for sometime.
The Texas Rangers are assisting the Anderson County Sheriff's office in their investigation.
