WINN PARISH, LA (KTBS) - Around 3:23, Sunday afternoon, citizens alerted Natchitoches Sheriff's Office to a possible body discovered on Sand Point Rd, in Winn Parish.

Authorities believe an animal unearthed the human remains from a shallow grave. Red River Parish cadaver dogs, were brought in to confirm that the body came from the shallow grave that was discovered. Caddo Crime Scene arrived to the area around 9, Sunday night and are currently processing the scene, to confirm the body found is that of Tony Procell.

Authorities believe the motive behind the kidnapping, and now murder, was domestic. Procell, 25, had been missing since he was kidnapped on Tuesday by his alleged abductor; former Natchitoches Police Officer Robert Barthelemy. Sand point Rd, is one of the search areas, authorities have been scouring. Surveillance video does show that Procell, was in the area of Winn Parish, before his disappearance. Barthelemy is currently in jail and Sabine District Attorney Don Burkett said federal and state authorities are in agreement to let Sabine Parish assume jurisdiction in apparent murder of Tony Procell. Charges against suspect Robert Barthelemy are expected to be upgraded Monday to first-degree murder.

Texas Equu Search joined the search prior to the discovery of the body. Texas EquuSearch is a non-profit search and rescue organization dedicated to searching for missing persons. It has increasingly become involved in high-profile abduction cases, including that of Natalee Holloway and Caylee Anthony.
