Boil Water Notice for Starrville Customers Lifted

UPDATE: Our system has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore adequate pressure, disinfectant levels, and bacteriological quality and has provided TCEQ with testing results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling as of March 10, 2014.

SMITH CO (KYTX) - Starrville Water Supply in Smith County has issued a boil water alert.

General Manager Hattie Miller says co-op members need to boil drinking water for two minutes.

She says the ice storm caused the water company to lose power and that means the water might not be sanitary. She expects the alert to last through Friday.
