Boston Marathon set for today

BOSTON (CNN) - More than 27-thousand people will hit the road today for the 117th annual Boston  Marathon.

Organizers tout it as the world's oldest annual marathon -- as well as one of the world's most prestigious road races. The 26.2 mile race goes from Hopkinton to Boston. The vast majority of the competitors will be running, but some will be using wheelchairs and handcycles.

Some famous faces are expected. They include Joey McIntyre of the boy band "New Kids on the Block," and Biggest Loser season 10 winner Patrick House.
