Bounce house takes flight with kids inside

(CNN) - See that little spec in the photo above? That's a bounce house soaring high in the air after being picked up by a gust of wind in South Glen Falls, New York, Monday afternoon.

Two young boys, ages 5 and 6, were seriously injured in the incident after been tossed to the ground from at least 15 feet in the air, according to the Post Star. One of those boys landed on a parked car while the other landed on asphalt, the Post Star reports. Another child, a 10-year-old girl, also reportedly flew out of the bounce house and suffered minor scrapes.

"It was like a horror movie," Taylor Seymour, who witnessed the incident, told the Post Star. "It just kept going up and up. It cleared our building and the trees."

The bounce reportedly got as high as 50 feet in the air at one point.

It's a scary sight, for sure, and something that unfortunately happens all across the country.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission investigates accidents and, in the past, has issued hazard alerts. It recommends to operators that all bounce houses be anchored and that children of different age groups should not be allowed to play at the same time.
