(KYTX) - Know how to play croquet?
Well a bunch of Tyler community members learned how to, and for a good cause today.
The Christian Women's Job Corp's first ever Bouquets of Croquet event was held today.
Around a dozen teams brushed up on croquet skills and then battled it out in a friendly competition.
Miss Texas helped host the event, and CBS 19's Justin Earley played on one of the teams.
All proceeds from Bouquets of Croquet go to the Christian Women's Job Corp, which teaches job skills to women in need.
"Many women are at a place in their life where they don't feel like they have a place to turn. They feel deserted or they've been in crisis, and providing them with job skills allows them to get out of those situations and improve their lives and the lives of their children," says Kathy Gohmert, director of the Christian Women's Job Corp.
The winners of today's tournament were Reisa Redwine and Nancy Crawford. CBS 19's Justin Earley came in second place, with his teammate David Kraffe.
