(KYTX) - The Brookshire's Firefighter Combat Challenge happens next week marking it's 8th year in Tyler.
The Firefighters Combat Challenge features tough competition for firefighters racing against time, much like they do everyday. The event drew in 1500 people last year.
The Tyler convention and visitors bureau hopes for even more this year, driving up tourism and money spent in East Texas.
"The National Combat Challenge will be here in Tyler next year. So it's important for them to come and get a feel for the community so they want to come back, not only for the challenge next year, but to bring their family back for vacations," says Holli Conley with the Tyler Chamber of Commerce.
The Firefighter Combat Challenge will be held October 4th and 5th in the parking lot of Broadway Square Mall.
