(CBS)- The post office says it suffered a net loss of two billion dollars in the third quarter. That means it won't be able to meet an almost 6 billion dollar payment due for its retiree health care fund in September. The postal service has failed to make any health care payments for the last three years - and has asked congress to pass legislation to help reduce the burden of financing the benefits.
(CBS)-Chiquita, the brand synonymous with bananas has received a buyout offer valued at more than six hundred million dollars. The unsolicited bid is from investment firm Safra Group and juice company Cutrale. It comes as Chiquita is in the midst of negotiating its own deal with an Irish based company. This is to merge and become the world's largest banana supplier.
