Business News: Uninsured Numbers Drop

(CNN)- Under Obamacare's individual mandate, the number of uninsured Americans has dropped dramatically.  A trio of surveys show many people are following the requirement to buy health insurance, but many other people still have not.  A Gallup Poll shows 17 percent of Americans were without health coverage at the end of 2013, that number has dropped to just over 13-percent.  A similar poll from the Commonwealth Fund showed the uninsured rate among Americans dropping from 20 percent to 15 percent. One from the Urban Institute showed the rate falling from 17 percent to just under 14 percent.

(CBS)- Amazon is being sued over charges the company has not done enough to stop children from spending millions of dollars on unauthorized in-app purchases. The Federal Trade Commission filed the complaint in federal court Thursday. They want Amazon to refund consumers affected. Amazon says it will not settle with the FTC saying it has already compensated affected parents who filed claims.

(CNN)- Do not be surprised if you see a new product on Walmart shelves, taco plates.  An inventor in Arkansas says the store chain put in an order for a million of his plastic taco holders Tuesday.  Hugh Jarratt was one of 800 inventors to go before Walmart buyers to pitch their products in the company's first-ever "open-call" for U.S. inventors.  It is part of a new initiative to get more American products on store shelves.
