Capital murder defendant in the death of a Longview man receives life sentence

GILMER (KYTX) - Daniel Paul Jones,one of three defendants in the kidnapping and beating death of a Longview man was sentenced Wednesday to life in prison without parole.

As part of a plea agreement, Jones pled guilty to one count in his capital murder indictment and was then sentenced by 115th District Judge Lauren Parish.

Jones and two other capital murder defendants were charged with killing Ronnie Gammage in December, 2012.

Sarah Haslam and Andrew Norwine are jailed in Upshur County awaiting trial.

Police said the three suspects kidnapped Gammage, then beat, and cut his throat before setting his body of fire.
