Center for Healthy Living offers classes on staying healthy

(KYTX) - The City of Tyler is teaming up with the Northeast Texas Public Health District to offer more preventative medical care.

The new Center for Healthy Living will be offering classes on diabetes management, healthy cooking, quitting smoking, and more.

The goal is to teach people how to take care of certain needs without having to go to the doctor.

"If we can help people manage those needs now, perhaps we can help them avoid a crisis situation later which causes increased costs in hospitalizations, etcetera," says George Roberts,Nethealth CEO.

The Center for Healthy Living is at the intersection of Highway 155 and Walton Road in Central Tyler.

It's open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5p.m.
