Chapel Hill football player undergoes brain surgery

CHAPEL HILL (KYTX) - An update now on the Chapel Hill football player hospitalized after practice Monday.

The father of freshman football player Dorian Timmons tells CBS 19 that it was a helmet to helmet injury that caused his son to have a seizure and become unconscious.

The father gave CBS19 permission to use Dorian's picture.

Doctors at ETMC in Tyler performed emergency brain surgery on Dorian.

Dorian's dad says his son is responding to his medication today and his blood pressure is now under control.

Mr. Timmons says his son does not have any pre existing medical conditions.

Dorian remains unconscious in the ICU tonight.
