Child released in Tyler auto-pedestrian accident

UPDATE (KYTX)- Infant injured in pedestrian accident being carried by her mother has been released from the Dallas Children's Medical Center. No word yet on if the baby has fully recovered.

At about 8:22 pm, Tyler Police were notified of a pedestrian accident in the 5800 block of Old Bullard Road.  Two Tyler Police Officers were working an extra duty job in the parking lot near there and immediately responded to the scene.  They notified dispatch of the accident and called for EMS and TFD to respond.  Tyler patrol officers arrived on scene and found a white female, identified as Aubrey Hettinger age 20, and a 2 week old female infant lying in the street.  Witnesses stated that they observed them crossing Old Bullard westbound when they were struck by a black Mercedes-Benz that was driving southbound.  They were crossing in an area of Old Bullard that does not have a pedestrian crosswalk.  Both were transported to local hospitals by EMS.  The infant was later transported to Children's Medical Center in Dallas and her current condition is unknown.  Audrey Hettinger is listed in critical condition. The driver of the Mercedes-Benz has been identified as a white female, Angela Minick age 40.  She did not have any injuries from the accident.  There was no indication of alcohol use by either person.

Tyler Police Accident Investigators and Major Crimes Investigators responded to the scene as well.  This case is still under investigation and no charges have been filed at this time.
