TYLER (KYTX) - Nathanial is a 10-year-old boy with a gentle spirit and a big heart. His teacher describes him as a wonderful child. And Jennifer Hayes, with Child Protective Services says, "He is a really sweet kid."
Nathanial does best with older children is working to build his self-confidence. "He is autistic and he is in special education classes and he does really well. He reads really well too." Nathanial adds, "I do math."
This special young man takes pride in doing things well. "He's really good at legos. He likes legos and puzzles and things that he can put together with his hands."
He also likes to stay active. "Play outside. Play on the computer inside," Nathanial said.
"He likes swing sets, slides, that kind of thing. He likes Star Wars. He has shown me his light saber every visit I've been out, so that's his favorite thing right now," Hays said.
Nathanial does not like loud noises and prefers quiet settings. He would do best with a forever family who understands autism and is willing to love and support him as he continues to grow and learn.
Hays said, "He's made a lot of progress and I think he has a lot of progress to make."
Nathanial is hoping he gets a second chance at a bright future with a forever family. "He's a really neat kid. He is, I think, ready for an adoptive family."
