(KYTX) - More than 100 teams of chili experts filled the air of Kilgore with the smell of chili today.
It's the 21st annual East Texas Oilmen's Chili Cook-Off in downtown Kilgore.
Oil companies are coming together to compete. Money raised from admission fees is donated to the East Texas treatment center.
That's an outpatient rehabilitation center for those with disabilities.
"You get to see your peers, your competition, and your customers. It's a good networking opportunity and it supports a good cause," says Jonathan Matkins, competitor with JP Energy.
Last year the event raised $54,000 for charity, and sold more than 9,000 tickets.
