City of Henderson under boil water notice due to water main rupture

City of Henderson:

HENDERSON (KYTX) - Due to a water main rupture in connection with construction activity, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has required the City of Henderson water system to notify customers of the need to boil their water prior to consumption.

The Boil Water Notice affects everyone south and west of Hwy 79 north and Hwy 64.

Those experiencing severe water pressure drops or loss of water service entirely are included in the notice.

Water should be boiled and cooled prior to use. This ensures the destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes in water for drinking, cooking and making ice.

The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, the option of purchasing bottled water or obtaining water from some other suitable source is recommended.

Water system officials will notify everyone when water is safe for consumption and no longer necessary to boil.
