(KYTX) - A section of Loop 323, known for its bottleneck congestion, will be widened.
Tx DOT plans to add extra lanes between Elm and Belwood on the West side of Tyler.
It narrows down to two lanes and that's where the traffic really backs up.
TxDOT says most of the $10 million it will spend on this project will be to make it where six lanes will be able to pass underneath the train tracks. It will take some time to complete the big project.
TxDOT says that work will not begin until early 2015 and then it will take about a year and a half to complete.
