Civil Air Patrol cadets participate in mock mass casualty disaster

BIG SANDY (KYTX) - A tornado mass casualty simulation kept a  lot of Civil Air Patrol cadets busy Saturday at the Alert Academy in Big Sandy.

Cadets participating played victims, medics or part of the ground teams. The ground teams job consisted of finding and aiding those hurt in the dramatized disaster.

The exercise was complete with bloody actors and cadets in full uniform.

"In a combat situation you always want to save the man next to you," said cadet Wyatt Burton.
"We work as a team how to um treat patients and how to get them out of there as fast as we could," said cadet Stephan Kepczk.

More than 100 cadets from all over the United States came together to take part in the mass casualty disaster dramatization.
