EAST TEXAS (KYTX) - Very strong winds have been blowing across East Texas today ahead of an approaching cold front. Gusts have been measured to nearly 40 mph.
The cold front will pass through after midnight turning winds from the north 10 to 20 gusting to 30 mph and bringing in cooler temperatures for Tuesday.
Highs Monday will be in the upper 70s and could reach 80 degrees at some places, especially in the southern counties. There is a less than 20 percent chance of rain following the front early Tuesday.
Temperatures will drop to freezing Wednesday morning and to the mid 30s Thursday morning. Highs Wednesday will be in the upper 50s and in the mid 60s Thursday. It looks like we could see the beginning of a rainy pattern by the latter half of the weekend.
