Color Up 5 K run helps raise money for Tyler children's Park

TYLER (KYTX) - The first ever Color Up 5K run was held Saturday at the Rose Tyler Park to help raise funds to help build the second improvement phase of the Tyler Children's Park. Over 3,000 runners showed up with more than 150 volunteers.

The Color Up 5K is one of multiple similar type races where runners are doused with paint as they run. This run was for a good cause and was plenty of fun.

"We like to call our event a color party and that's exactly what is. We have lots of people getting together for a great time," said Color Run director Terri Ross.

Jennifer Carson with the Tyler Children's Park said, "The fact that we're here today with 3,000 people running and we get to be a part of this event is so exciting to us."
