DIBOLL (KYTX) - Several people were injured when a inner part of a roof collapsed at the Diboll Correctional Center Saturday afternoon. The facility's warden said, the building is used for housing.
Center representatives said 84 people were in the area when the roof collapse happened. Updated information from Diboll Police Sargent Branden Lovell said, at least 19 people were taken to the hospital in Lufkin for injuries, at least one person had to been taken by helicopter to a different facility, which has not been named.
Authorities said the people had been moved to the jail's gym, however around 3:00 pm. they were moved back into the facility after officials determined it was safe.
