Cowboys wrangle bull in Haughton

(KYTX) - UPDATE: According to KTBS 3 News a group of cowboys wrangled the wandering bull in Haughton, Louisiana. 


The Bossier Sheriff's Office and Louisiana Livestock Brand Commission are asking motorists and residents to be on the lookout for a loose bull in the Haughton area this afternoon.

A 1,500 pound, 2-year-old white Charolais bull got loose from its owner's trailer while at an animal clinic on the 5600 block of Highway 80 in Haughton just around noon today. Deputies, veterinarians and volunteers have been searching for the bull, but have yet to locate him.

The bull was last seen heading south into the woods behind the clinic, and authorities at the scene are asking folks to be on the lookout.

They believe the bull is somewhere between Highway 80 and I-20 and Highway 614 and Highway 157. Although the bull doesn't pose a direct threat, drivers are asked to use precaution if you are driving in those areas, especially as night approaches.

If you see the bull, please contact the Bossier Sheriff's Office at 318-965-2203 immediately. Please do not approach the bull.
