CPS closes daycare after unattended baby falls

(KYTX) - A Hudson daycare has been closed due to a report of child abuse/neglect, according to a Department of Family and Protective Services report.

Shari Pullium with Texas Child Protective Services says a baby was left unattended Sept. 8 on a changing table and fell 3.2 feet onto the floor.

The investigation shows the staff of Wild About Kids reported false information to 9-month-old Reagan Brasher's father, Zack Brasher that day. A caregiver told Brasher his daughter was dropped on her backside.

The next day, a different staff member asked Brasher about swelling on Reagan's head. That's when he found out she had fallen and hit her head on the concrete ground.

Reagan had a fractured skull and subdural hematoma, according to the report.

The incident wasn't reported to CPS until two days later. CPS delivered a notice and revoked the center's permit Friday, Nov. 16.

The owner of the daycare, Jessica Bridwell, can file for an appeal but has not yet.
