Crime Stoppers in Lufkin seeks information on theft suspect

CrimeStoppers of Lufkin:

LUFKIN (KYTX) - Crime Stoppers of Lufkin wants your help identifying a suspect captured on video leaving a Lufkin store with stolen merchandise.

A security camera at the entrance of the store captured video of the suspect coming and going just before 9:00 PM October 17, 2013.  The video shows the suspect entering the store with sunglasses on his head and a white bag in his hand.  Minutes later, the camera captured the suspect exiting the store with the sunglasses on his head and the bag in his hand but also with a pair of headphones around his neck.

Employees quickly determined that the suspect stole a pair of Phillips brand headphones but do not know what other merchandise was taken and they were unable to stop him before he fled the area.

The suspect is a tall, thin, black male with short hair and some facial hair.  At the time of this crime, he was wearing a grey t-shirt, blue jeans, and light-colored tennis shoes, and he had a green bracelet on his left wrist.

Crime Stoppers chose to profile this theft as a warning to other would-be thieves.  Thefts such as this typically are misdemeanor offenses but punishments can still be stiff, and prior convictions for any grade of theft can enhance the punishment to a State Jail Felony.

If you can identify the suspect, or if you can provide information concerning similar crimes committed by this suspect, call Crime Stoppers of Lufkin at (936) 639-TIPS or click here to submit an anonymous tip.  You never have to give your name and Crime Stoppers may pay a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest related to this crime.
