Authorities investigating two separate incidents near Tyler Junior College

TYLER - TYLER - Authorities continue to investigate two separate incidents that happened near Tyler Junior College on Sept. 21.

Tyler police and TJC campus police officers responded to a call at 1414 Magnolia around 7:30 p.m. The victim stated he was meeting someone to make a purchase that was initiated over social media. Instead, three suspects, a female and two males, held him at gunpoint inside a vehicle and took his phone and an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspects drove away in a dark blue Honda sedan northbound on Beckham Avenue.

Later in the evening, authorities responded to another call in the 1200 block of Magnolia. The victim stated two suspects pointed a rifle at him before driving away in a black, four-door Acura.

Students were alerted to these incidents and police have increased patrols on campus as well as in the area.
