TYLER (KYTX) The ALS ice bucket challenge is continuing to make it's way around east Texas. Friday Cumberland Academy teachers, students and administrators held a mass ice bucket challenge to help raise ALS or Lou Gehriq's ss. They also want to recognize one of their students' parents who is living with the disease.
"There are so many people who don't have as much support as i do and i just think this has probably come at a time in their lives where they feel hopeless that people don't understand what it is they are not progressing with a cure right now and i just feel like this is a tidal wave of hope to so many people," said Christi Wyatt-Zimmerman who has ALS.
In addition to the fun of just participating the staff will also be making a donation to the a-l-s association.
