Dallas good Samaritan breaks up fight, Is stabbed to death

DALLAS (CBSFDW.COM) - Police have arrested one man and are searching for two more in the investigation into the stabbing death of Terrell Evan Cowherd, 26, in Dallas.

Police say they have charged Jerry Brown, 23, with murder. Cowherd was trying to break up a fight between Brown and another unidentified man near the intersection of Greenville Avenue and Sears Street just before 2 a.m. Saturday morning when the attack happened.

Brown started hitting Cowherd, then restrained him, according to a police report, while the other man stabbed him. Witnesses told police Brown continued to punch Cowherd in the face as the other man stabbed him repeatedly.

Cowherd was transported to the Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas where he was pronounced deceased.

The stabber is still at large, though police described him as a man in his 20s with a muscular build and tattoos of wings on each of his shoulder blades. He is five feet nine inches tall and weighs about 170 pounds, police said. No name was available.

Police say they are also looking for a third "person of interest" in the case, though it's unclear exactly what role they believe he played in the assault. He is described as five feet eight inches tall, between 160 and 180 pounds with gold teeth.
