DENALI NATIONAL PARK, Alaska (WFAA) — A dinosaur expedition underway in Alaska will soon turn into a learning experience for North Texans.
Researchers from the Perot Museum of Nature and Science are unearthing evidence of a dinosaur in Denali National Park and Preserve.
News 8 photojournalist Katrina Gutierrez hiked along Tattler Creek with the scientific team this week as they unearthed new evidence.
On Friday, the researchers discovered a new footprint on Sable Mountain, offering proof that a therizinosaur walked the earth there. The print is smaller than most, and it's not yet clear whether it belonged to a younger dinosaur, or one that was smaller than other known specimens.
Either way, it has piqued their interest.
The team is posting an online blog of their discoveries, complete with videos.
