MANHATTAN (USA Today) -- A new, upscale Denny's opened last week in New York City where guests can order the "Grand Cru Slam" combo meal for $300. The meal includes a bottle of chilled, vintage 2004 Dom Perignon and two Grand Slam breakfast meals made up of eggs, bacon, sausage and pancakes.
"Everyone gets a high-five from the bartender for ordering that," bar director Mike Capoferri, told USA TODAY Network.
The restaurant, located in Lower Manhattan, is the first-ever Denny's in the Big Apple.
"There weren't any Denny's in New York City at all so we figured, 'Why not?'" franchisee Rahul Marwa said.
"We wanted to make sure we kind of stepped it up a notch for this neighborhood, which is the gateway to the financial district," he said.
