ROSEBUD, TX (KWTX) --A Rosebud-Lott school bus driver was arrested Monday morning for DWI while driving a busload of students to school.
Rosebud-Lott ISD Superintendent Anthony Price said a student aboard one of the district's buses texted her mother that the bus driver was driving recklessly.
The mother, in turn, notified Rosebud police, who stopped the bus on Main Street in Rosebud at about 7:10 a.m.
The driver was subjected to a breathalyzer test at the scene that indicated he was under the influence of alcohol, Price said.
Price said the driver was handcuffed and taken to the Falls County Jail to would undergo a blood test to verify the results of the initial test done at the scene.
The driver's name was not released because he has not yet been formally charged.
Price, another bus driver and another district official went to the scene and the second driver took the bus on to school.
There were 40- to 50 students on the bus who ranged in age from primary to high school.
Price said the high school students on the bus kept calm and order amongst the younger passengers until school staff arrived
