SMITH COUNTY (KYTX) - An early morning fire damages a Smith County home. It happened just after midnight on County Road 382, that's just off Highway 271.
Firefighters believe the fire had been burning for some time, but due to the lack of oxygen, it did not burn quickly. No one was inside the mobile home at the time. The homeowner tells CBS19, the people who were renting the home moved out Thursday. The homeowner was outside earlier this morning when they heard the smoke alarm go off and called the fire department.
Winona, Red Springs, and Chapel Hill responded to put out the fire. The cause is still under investigation.
