TYLER (KYTX)- Conflict between Israel and Palestinian militants continues and one East Texas Rabbi has been in the Middle East for the last few weeks.
Rabbi Neal Katz of Congregation Beth El of Tyler has seen it all including rockets flying nearby.
He was also in Israel when three kidnapped Israeli boys were found dead.
But he says he doesn't feel unsafe.
Katz says Israel is as safe for travelers now as it ever has been.
"In terms of safety I feel completely safe, I mean I'm flying out of here tonight, I feel no concern whatsoever," Katz said.
Katz has been to Israel over ten times and stressed that daily life in Israel is going on as it usually does.
He says the bottom line is that Israelis just have a different sense of normalcy than we do here in the U.S.
Katz returns to Tyler this afternoon.
