Egypt protest camps could be cleared out today



EGYPT (CBS) - Egyptian military forces appear to be poised to clear out two campsites where supporters of ousted President Mohammed Morsi have been camped out for weeks.

Security there could begin clearing out the camps as early as today. But the Morsi supporters are not moving out. In fact, they have fortified their campsites and appear ready to stand their

"Any attack or the killing of Egyptians because of political differences which the police and army are doing now will be punished and could ignite all of Egypt," says Gamal Heshmat, Muslim Brotherhood Leader.


Senator John McCain visited Egypt last week to meet with military leaders -- urging them to refrain from violence when confronting the protestors.   More than 250 people have already been killed in clashes between the military and the protestors since Morsi was removed from office July 3rd.
