Entries are pouring in for the Tyler Film Festival

(KYTX) - Organizers of the Downtown Tyler Film Festival say they have received hundreds of entries.

The festival featuring short films begins on Wednesday and continues over the next four days at Liberty Hall on the downtown square.

It is now in its third year. Organizers told us that this year the entries for these short films came pouring in from all over – not just East Texas.

They will be giving out prizes in several divisions including the best Texas film and the best film made by students.

We do know that a filmmaker named JR. Parish, who won one of the top awards last year has submitted a film this year called "The Bling Artist."

And besides the films, the organizers will be putting on sorts of workshop such as how to conduct a casting call and how make up for movies.

For more about the film festival, see the Spotlight Section in tomorrow's Tyler paper.
