ETX man threatens retaliation at witness in court hearing

A Lufkin man racked up additional charges while in court Tuesday afternoon on a revocation hearing in Angelina County.

According to Jessica Pebsworth with the Lufkin Police Department, 30-year-old Courtney Daniel Warren reacted violently upon hearing his 10-year sentence in a revocation hearing by yelling, cursing and pushing furniture around the courtroom.

As bailiffs fought to restrain him, Warren forced his way closer to the judge's bench and threatened the witness in the case, Lufkin Police Det. Cpl. Kevin Jackson, saying "I'm going to killy you (expletive)."

Warren also tried to get at an assistant district attorney and other law enforcement officials, and later told Angelina County jailers that when he got out, he was going to shoot State District Judge Paul White in the stomach.

Warren has been charged with obstruction or retaliation against a public servant, and additional charges are pending. No bail has been set.
