Soccer player Clint Dempsey, who is leading Team USA at the world cup, announced Thursday that he is releasing a new rap album under his musician pseudonym of "Deuce."
The album, entitled "The Redux," was produced during the soccer offseason with Dempsey's rapper friend "XO." A release date is not known, however, Dempsey released the first single off the album this week, called "It's Poppin'."
Dempsey also announced that a portion of the proceeds from album sales would go to the East Texas Food Bank. Dempsey has a long history with the food bank, having worked on several public awareness campaigns for the organization during his career.
"Clint's been a friend of the food bank for quite some time," East Texas Food Bank Executive Director Dennis Cullinane said. "He's been involved in a couple of our campaigns and actually helped with kick-offs for some past summer food service programs and we're very grateful that he's remembered us back here in East Texas."
Cullinane said the food bank is always in need of additional donations and volunteers. Click here to learn how you can help.
