Family wants answers into inmates death

LONGVIEW/GREGG COUNTY (KTYX) - Viviane Beene is a longtime friend of the Madewell family.

she says the family is very upset about the way 51-year-old Bobby Madewell Junior died.
"He was taken into custody by the Gregg County Sheriff's department. He was in their care and they were responsible for him."
The Gregg County Sheriff's Department says Madewell had been in jail since March 12th.
He was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and bond forfeiture.
The Gregg County Sheriff's Department says deputies approached Madewell early Thursday morning because he was acting erratic...
They say Madewell became extremely violent and resisted officers, and that's when they tased him.
"They detox that fast, it's dangerous and that's what happened to bobby."
Beene says  Madewell had gone nearly 10 days without his prescribed medications.
    - His mother had went to the jailhouse numerous times to try to get his medications to him and in over a week he had not gotten any of his medications."
Now family and friends want answers about exactly how and why Madewell died.
    -  "no one but them were responsible for him and he died in their care."
Texas rangers along with the Gregg County Sheriff's investigators are conducting an investigation into the case. The family says until they get the body back from the Tarrant County medical examiner's office, all funeral arrangements will be pending.
