Fatal accident this morning in northern Upshur County

UPSHUR COUNTY (TYLER MORNING TELEGRAPH) - One person was killed in a two-vehicle accident this morning near the Bethlehem community in northern Upshur County.

The Department of Public Safety is investigating the wreck on Farm-to-Market Road 2454, near Toad Road, about 1 1/2 miles north of the Union Hill School.

Trooper Colby Hobbs said the driver of a Chevrolet Suburban headed northbound reportedly crossed into the southbound lane and was in collision with a Brookshire Grocery Co. truck.

The name of the Suburban's driver was not released, pending notification of next of kin, Hobbs said.

The Brookshire truck driver was not transported for medical treatment.

Both were wearing seatbelts.
