LONGVIEW (KYTX) - Suspect in fatal shooting over the weekend in Longview has been identified.
Longview investigators learned that 30-year-old Byron Marcel Houston had been joking around with the victim by pointing a loaded gun at her and accidentally shot Barbara Lorena Hudson in the back on Saturday, November 17 around 1:53 p.m.
According to the initial statements, witnesses told officers on the scene that an unknown black male came into the home and argued with the victim before firing a handgun at Hudson.
Hudson was hit in the back by a single bullet and pronounced dead at Good Shepherd Medical Center.
Houston was arrested for manslaughter and booked into the Gregg County Jail without incident.
Houston's surety bond is set for $50,000.
