Father agrees to temporary custody with grandmother who kidnapped his daughters in Russia

(KYTX) - Longview native Royce Sigler said he wants normalcy for his daughters kidnapped by their maternal grandmother this summer in Russia.

He's given the grandmother temporary custody with conditions.

Sigler wants to reunite with his daughters, Tanya and kKsenya, who were taken by their mother in 2008, after a Texas court granted Sigler custody.

The girls' grandmother kidnapped them again July 2, after Sigler went to Russia to bring them back to the U.S.

"The conditions are that I must be allowed to communicate with the girls, either Skype or a telephone call or something, but we're still trying to work out if they need to go to the children's agency, because if she's standing there beside them, it will not be a very good conversation," says Sigler.

Sigler said he's also hired a second attorney to petition a Russian court to recognize his parental rights.

He still doesn't have a visa to return to Russia, after a visa approved for him in July was revoked three weeks ago.
